It was a beautiful morning at nearby Hinckley Lake where I went to enjoy the quiet early day. It's a needed respite which will help me prepare for the long day ahead; a day which will include working til about midnight on a computer server that is on its last legs. Here we see the early sun shining through mists rising from the still surface of the lake. How I would have loved to spend more time there and how I would love to go out tonight — the skies should be wonderful for astronomy. Alas, I must work to earn an income. Money may not buy happiness, but it helps!
I imagine this setting is very calming. It sometimes doesn't seem fair that we have to work!
Another beautiful photo. Were there any buzzards about? Hope the work on the server goes well!
Thanks. I've been having to re-learn my old SLR skills with the Canon Digital Rebel –I'd been shooting with all-in-one cameras for so long– and that includes balancing f-stops with shutter speed. Almost there and the photo came out well anyway. Actually did see some buzzards and almost stopped to photograph — now I wish I would have: about a dozen of the big birds were perched along the roof lines of a house not far from the lake, some basking, others just waiting to take flight. Quite a sight! — JG
Very calming indeed! It was so quiet and calm around the lake. The still waters and rising mists illuminated by the sun made for a restful scene I did not want to leave. — JG
