Many an IT worker is familiar with the sight: a lone car, his own, in the parking lot. The network is quiet when all have left and offices are empty; that's when important work can be done, seen and appreciated by no one. The "computer guy" is last to leave. If he's lucky, the parking lot lights are on. Scrape the ice off the windshield; it's time to go home.
Wow….and hope for safety. I would not want to walk out there alone late at night! But then again, I am only 5' tall and a petite lady.
Hey, thanks. I don't worry for my security so much in the winter –not many muggers would hang out in winter weather in an empty parking lot– but I do worry in the summertime. Local police here in this safe suburb invite night workers (especially women) to call for an escort if worried about personal safety. The only time I encountered a police officer here was when leaving in the wee hours… I think he thought I was robbing the place! — JG
What a lonely sight! I'm also glad you are safe.
Yes, good to know you are safe!
